History of Rogoznica

Rogoznica is a small town in the heart of Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, between Split and Sibenik. The town dates back to the Roman era. In the 15th century, Rogoznica became part of the Venetian Republic.

In the early 19th century, the Austro-Hungarian Empire took control of Rogoznica and became part of the Austro-Hungarian Kingdom. During World War II, the town was under the occupation of Italy until 1943, when the Yugoslav Partisans liberated it.

After the war, Rogoznica became a part of Yugoslavia until 1991, when Croatia declared independence. Today, the town has become a popular tourist destination and is a popular stop on luxury yacht charter itineraries.
