Croatia catamaran charter costs vary by yacht size, cabin count, and season. This guide covers crewed catamaran charters, the type MCYC offers. Below, you’ll find dated yacht price examples, then the extra costs that often surprise first-time charterers, finally a fully worked-out weekly budget, and lastly, a budget calculator.

Compare catamaran charter service levels.

MCYC arranges fully crewed catamaran charters in Croatia. Your captain handles navigation and mooring, while the yacht’s agreed crew provides onboard service and meal preparation. Crew composition varies, so confirm whether your chosen catamaran has a dedicated chef and a steward or stewardess. Bareboat and skippered charters offer different service levels; the yacht examples and budgets in this guide focus on fully crewed charters.

For comparable yachts and dates, costs generally rise with the level of service. Crewed charters often use an APA, or Advance Provisioning Allowance, to fund operating expenses such as fuel, food, and dockage, separately from the charter fee. Therefore, after expenses are settled, unused funds are returned; any shortfall must be paid.

What changes the cost of a Croatia catamaran charter

Several factors move the price up or down. In other words, knowing these factors first helps you compare quotes fairly.

Sailing versus power. Compare sailing catamarans if sailing is part of your holiday, or power catamarans for engine-powered cruising. Fuel use, base rates and inclusions vary by yacht; compare itemized quotes for your dates.

Size and guest cabins. A larger catamaran brings more space and stability. It also generally costs more to charter. So, cabin count matters just as much as overall length. In fact, two boats of similar size can accommodate very different numbers of guests and have different numbers of cabins.

Crew and service. Compare the crew complement, onboard amenities, water toys, and meal arrangements. Fully crewed yachts differ in what they include, so assess each yacht’s total quote and service rather than the charter fee alone.

Dates, duration, route, and starting marina. Peak summer months cost more than shoulder-season weeks. A longer charter, meanwhile, can sometimes lower the average daily rate. Your departure port affects logistics and, therefore, price. A route through popular islands, for example, may add mooring costs along the way. Split, Dubrovnik, and Trogir, for instance, are common starting points in Croatia. Each offers different access to nearby islands and, consequently, a different typical route. Guest capacity also depends on the yacht’s actual layout. So don’t assume guest capacity from the model name alone. Always confirm the real cabin configuration before booking.

The Adriatic sailing season generally runs from April through October. Peak season falls in July and August, when demand and prices typically rise together.

Current catamaran price examples

Here are real, currently listed catamarans available through MCYC. These published rates provide a starting point for comparison. Confirm the applicable dates, inclusions, and final prices in your yacht-specific quote. Every example below is a crewed catamaran charter in Croatia, along with its cost.

Sailing catamarans | Rates are in Euros (EUR)

Based on this sample, currently listed sailing catamarans range from about EUR 22,900 to EUR 81,000 across the season. Prices are weekly amounts in euros.

Power catamarans

In this sample, currently listed power catamarans range from about EUR 22,500 to EUR 75,000 across the season.

Rates must be compared for the same dates and inclusions. Confirm whether each quote includes VAT, crew, cleaning, and any mooring fees, and separately identify the APA and other charges.

Expenses beyond the advertised rate

Rate years differ between yacht listings. SEADUCTIVE ORCA’s detailed schedule shown here is for 2026, with VAT included and a fixed €10,000 APA. By My Side’s detailed schedule is for 2027, with 13% VAT and 30% APA added. Other table entries are listing examples: confirm their rate year, seasonal dates and inclusions before comparison.

The advertised rate is only part of the total cost. Several extra expenses apply to most catamaran charters.

  1. Fuel. You pay for the fuel used during your week. Usage, naturally, depends on distance traveled and engine time.
  2. Food and provisioning. Unless your service level includes meals, you budget separately for food and drinks onboard. Many groups, in fact, prefer to provision locally upon arrival.
  3. Marina and mooring fees. Overnight stays in marinas or on buoys cost extra. Rates vary by location and by season.
  4. Taxes and required fees. Croatia applies a tourist tax and other required charges per guest. These are usually confirmed and collected at the time of booking.
  5. Security deposit. If your charter requires a security deposit, confirm its amount, payment method, refund conditions, and permitted deductions in the agreement. Keep it separate from your expected holiday spending. A deposit is usually held as a credit card pre-authorization. So it doesn’t always appear as a charge, unless a claim is made against it.
  6. Comfort or cleaning fees. Some charter companies apply a fixed fee here. It usually covers final cleaning, linens, and a dinghy with an outboard.

However, not every operator structures this the same way. So confirm exactly what’s included in your Croatia catamaran charter costs before comparing two quotes side by side. Ask for an itemized quote that shows the included services, applicable fees, and how operating expenses will be funded.

A complete Croatia catamaran charter cost example

Numbers alone can be hard to picture. This illustrative example shows how the costs add up for a group of eight adults on a catamaran charter in Croatia.

The sample below is illustrative, not a real client quote. It uses SEADUCTIVE ORCA’s published 2026 rates and obligatory extras. Tourist tax is an illustrative assumption based on the yacht’s published schedule; confirm the applicable charge and any exemptions for your party.

Sample scenario: 8 guests, 4 cabins, one week in late July, fully crewed aboard SEADUCTIVE ORCA (a sailing catamaran).

This illustrative budget assumes eight adults sharing four guest cabins for seven nights in late July 2026. It excludes flights, transfers, meals ashore, and separately agreed extras. Actual operating expenses may differ from the APA: unused funds are refunded after reconciliation, and any shortfall must be paid.

Costs are in Euros.

This seven-night illustration uses the selected rate year and seasonal example. VAT is included for SEADUCTIVE ORCA and added at 13% for By My Side. APA uses the yacht’s listed fixed amount or percentage and is reconciled against actual expenses. Tourist tax is illustrated separately for SEADUCTIVE ORCA, whose schedule lists it. It is not added separately for By My Side; confirm whether it is covered by APA or charged outside it, to avoid counting an expense twice. Gratuity is entirely discretionary and starts at zero. Choosing between a sailing and power catamaran

A sailing catamaran uses sails together with engine power. It suits travelers who enjoy the sailing experience itself, not just the destination. A power catamaran, in contrast, relies solely on engines. It often reaches destinations faster, which can suit shorter trips well. Budget-wise, a Croatia power catamaran charter and a sailing catamaran charter can land in a similar range.

Based on currently listed inventory, sailing catamarans range from about EUR 22,900 to EUR 81,000 per week across the season. Power catamarans, meanwhile, range from about EUR 22,500 to EUR 75,000. Because the choice affects both budget and experience, it’s worth making an early decision.

Find the best fit for your group and budget.

The right catamaran depends on more than price alone. Consider your group’s sleeping arrangements, the available guest cabins, crew accommodations, shaded dining areas, and the level of onboard service you want.

Flexible dates can also open up better availability. Shoulder-season weeks, for example, often mean a wider choice of available yachts. Think about pace, too. Some groups want a different island every day. Others prefer to settle into one or two bays and relax there for longer.

Water activities matter for many families. Confirm which watersports gear, such as paddleboards or snorkeling equipment, comes standard with your chosen yacht.

Group dynamics also shape the right choice. Families may prioritize flexible meals and suitable water activities, while couples may prefer cabins of similar size. Match the yacht and crew to how your group wants to spend the week, as well as to your budget.

FAQs

How much does it cost to charter a catamaran in Croatia?

The answer depends on service level, boat size, and season. For example, AMADA MIA, a crewed sailing catamaran accommodating eight guests in four cabins, lists weekly charter rates from EUR 22,900 to EUR 47,100, plus expenses. Your final quote depends on your dates and inclusions, so confirm VAT, provisioning, fuel, and mooring costs before comparing options.

What is the difference between bareboat and crewed catamaran charter?

Bareboat means you sail the catamaran yourself, with no crew aboard. A fully crewed charter, by contrast, includes a skipper and additional crew who handle navigation, service, and often meals.
The cost gap between the two reflects that added service. A bareboat charter sits lowest because you provide the sailing expertise yourself.

How much does it cost to charter a catamaran?

Costs vary widely by region, boat size, and crew level, not just within Croatia. For Croatia specifically, the service-level breakdown above is the clearest starting point for comparison.

Can I charter a catamaran in Croatia?

Yes. MCYC arranges fully crewed catamaran charters in Croatia. Share your dates, guest count, cabin requirements, and budget so our team can recommend suitable yachts.

How many cabins do I need for my group?

The guest cabin count should match your group’s sleeping arrangements. Confirm the actual guest and crew layout: crew may have separate accommodations, but on some yachts they occupy an interior cabin. Do not assume the model’s advertised cabin count represents the cabins available to guests.

When is the best time to book for the lowest price?

Shoulder-season months typically cost less than peak summer weeks. Booking early, or staying flexible on dates, can also help secure a better rate.

What extra costs should I budget beyond the base rate?

Budget for fuel, food and drinks, marina fees, applicable taxes, and agreed extras not included in your quote. Where an APA applies, it funds operating expenses rather than adding a second charge for the same items. Unused funds are refunded after reconciliation; any shortfall must be settled.

Is my deposit refundable, and how do I get an accurate quote?

If a security deposit applies, its refund conditions and permitted deductions are set out in your charter agreement. For an accurate quote, share your dates and guest count with the CKIM Group team.
