How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Yacht in Croatia?
A Croatia yacht charter does not have one standard weekly price. Your total budget depends on the yacht, travel dates, guest count, service level, route, and the costs excluded from the advertised rate. Begin by comparing the base charter fee and expected expenses in the same currency, for the same dates and number of guests.
Many crewed yachts operate on a plus-expenses basis. This means the headline fee may cover the yacht and agreed crew service, while tax, fuel, food and drinks, berth, and optional gratuity are handled separately. The individual yacht listing and charter agreement determine the final inclusions, exclusions, and payment terms.

What Determines the Cost of a Croatia Yacht Charter
Yacht Type and Size
Yacht type, size, age, layout, guest capacity, amenities, and crew complement all affect the base fee. A compact crewed motor yacht, a sailing catamaran, a traditional motor sailer, and a large sailing yacht can therefore sit at very different price points. Compare the space and service your group will use rather than choosing by length or headline price alone.
Season and Dates
Each yacht sets its own seasonal bands. July and August commonly carry higher rates, while dates before or after the busiest summer weeks may be priced differently. However, labels such as high, shoulder, and low season are not universal. Always compare the exact date band shown in the current rate sheet.
Crew and Service
The listed fee may include a full crew, a smaller crew, or a different service arrangement. Some yachts include selected meals, cruising fuel, berth charges, or water toys; others charge operating expenses separately. Crewed therefore does not automatically mean all-inclusive.
Itinerary and Operating Costs
Your route across the Adriatic Sea affects fuel use and overnight costs. A faster pace, longer distances, and more marina stays can increase spending. A slower itinerary may reduce some operating costs, but it also changes how many destinations you visit. Ask for an estimate based on the yacht and route you are actually considering.
Compare Croatia Yacht Charter Cost by Yacht Type
These examples show why a category average is less useful than an itemized yacht quotation. Rates and terms were checked on our yacht pages on 22 September 2026. Availability and pricing can change, so confirm the dates, currency, inclusions, tax treatment, and expenses before relying on any figure.
| Yacht and type | Guests | Rate dates | Advertised base rate | Included items | Excluded or separate items |

| AGORA motor sailer | 12 | 2026 high / shoulder / low bands | €16,900 / €14,900 / €13,900 per week | Accommodation, four crew and onboard insurance listed; see yacht page | Confirm full exclusions and tax treatment for chosen dates |
| 7X SUNREEF 80 sailing catamaran | 8 | 2026 listing range; date bands not stated | €72,500–€76,500 per week plus expenses | Yacht and four crew shown; confirm full schedule | Tax, operating expenses and other exclusions require confirmation |

What Is Included in the Base Charter Fee
The base fee usually covers use of the named yacht for the agreed period and the services expressly listed in its rate sheet or charter agreement. Depending on the yacht, that may include crew wages, yacht insurance, standard onboard equipment, linen, Wi-Fi, selected meals, or a limited amount of cruising fuel.
Do not assume that two base fees include the same services. Ask for an itemized quotation and treat the signed charter agreement as the controlling document.

What Else Should You Budget For
Applicable Taxes
The current MCYC listings above show 13% Croatian VAT for the specified Croatia charters, but tax treatment depends on the yacht, itinerary, place of supply, and agreement. Ask whether VAT is included in the advertised rate, which rate applies, and what amount it is calculated on. Croatia’s Tax Administration publishes the current VAT framework, while your charter documentation should state the treatment for the booking.
Advance Provisioning Allowance and Operating Expenses
APA stands for Advance Provisioning Allowance. On a plus-expenses charter, it is money paid in advance so the captain can cover agreed operating costs such as fuel, guest food and drinks, and port or mooring charges. These costs are charged against the allowance. Any balance or shortfall is then handled according to the charter agreement.
APA is a funding mechanism, not a fixed fee that should be added again to the expenses it covers. The percentage also varies by yacht: the current examples above show allowances from 30% to 35%, while other yachts may use a different percentage or a fixed amount.
Gratuity and Optional Arrangements
Crew gratuity is discretionary. If you want to include it in your planning budget, show it separately from mandatory charges and confirm the appropriate guidance with CKIM Group. Airport transfers, premium beverages, added water sports, delivery fees, and special arrangements may also be separate.
Deposits and Payment Timing
A booking payment normally counts toward the charter fee and should not be added twice. A refundable security deposit, if required, is separate from vacation spending and may be subject to deductions under the agreement. Payment dates and deposit terms vary, so confirm them on the itemized quotation and contract.
Review the Charter Agreement and Insurance
Before signing, CKIM Group recommends that the Charterer carefully review the full Charter Agreement, including the payment schedule and cancellation terms. In the 2025 MYBA specimen, Page One records the installment amounts and due dates; Clause 1 addresses payment obligations; Clause 11 addresses cancellation and non-payment; and Clause 8 covers operating costs and APA. Read any Special Conditions and ask CKIM Group about terms you do not understand.
CKIM Group also recommends purchasing suitable travel insurance to help protect your charter investment, including cancellation and curtailment cover where available. Check covered reasons, limits, exclusions, and claim requirements with the insurer. Clause 16 of the MYBA specimen notes that the Charterer’s own liability and cancellation or curtailment insurance is not included in the charter agreement.
Calculate Your Croatia Yacht Charter Cost
Use the interactive calculation table on this page to test the figures from a yacht quotation. Its starting values illustrate PARADISE’s listed low-season weekly fee, checked on 22 September 2026. Change the base fee, VAT treatment, APA percentage, expected operating costs, other costs, optional gratuity, and refundable deposit for the yacht and dates you are considering. This example is not a live quote or availability check.
The published calculator shows these starting values:
| Budget component | Example amount | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Base charter fee | €28,000 | Listed low-season weekly fee |
| VAT added | €3,640 | Illustrative 13% of base fee; confirm treatment |
| APA paid in advance | €9,800 | Illustrative 35% of base fee |
| Other costs outside APA | €0 | Add only costs outside the fee and APA |
| Optional gratuity | €0 | Discretionary; entered separately |
| Planning total using APA | €41,440 | Base fee + VAT + APA + outside costs + optional tip |
| Estimated spend after APA reconciliation | €41,440 | Uses estimated actual operating costs instead of APA |
| Refundable security deposit | €0 | Shown separately; excluded from estimated spend |
The planning total uses APA as funds set aside for operating costs. After the charter, replace APA with actual covered expenses to estimate final spend; do not add both. The calculator shows a possible APA refund or top-up and keeps any refundable security deposit separate. Actual tax, inclusions, payment timing, and expenses depend on the yacht and charter agreement.
Review and Approve the Final APA Statement
Before disembarking, ask the captain for the final itemized APA statement and available supporting receipts. Compare it with the APA paid, review any surplus or shortfall, and raise questions with the Captain or Broker. Clause 8 of the MYBA specimen calls for a detailed account before disembarkation; MYBA’s captain guidance says the Charterer should sign off if the accounts are accepted. Sign only once you approve the statement, and keep a copy.

How to Compare Yacht Charter Costs
Put every quotation on the same basis before choosing. Compare the same duration, dates, currency, guest count, cabin needs, crew and service level, tax treatment, operating allowance, and exclusions. Then separate refundable deposits and discretionary gratuity from the expected vacation spend. The lowest headline fee may not produce the lowest comparable total.
“Sometimes clients focus on the advertised weekly charter fee without considering the total cost. A yacht with a lower fee can still have substantial operating expenses, particularly if its fuel consumption is high for the planned itinerary. We review an itemized estimate with clients before they book so they can compare the charter fee, fuel, provisioning, dockage, taxes, and other costs on the same basis. Actual operating costs can vary with the route and onboard choices.”

Ways to Align the Charter with Your Budget
Start with the experience your group values most. Flexible dates may open different rate bands. A smaller yacht may reduce the base fee but offer fewer cabins or less deck space. A slower itinerary may reduce fuel use but cover fewer destinations. Adjusting service priorities can change the budget as well, provided the final arrangement still meets your group’s needs.
Use a total budget rather than a base-fee ceiling. That gives CKIM Group enough context to suggest yachts whose full cost structure is realistic for your plans.
Get a Budget-Matched Yacht Shortlist
Share your travel dates, guest count, cabin needs, approximate total budget, preferred cruising pace, dining preferences, and any special arrangements. CKIM Group, through MCYC, can then help you compare suitable options and request itemized terms for the yachts that fit.
FAQs – Croatia Yacht Charter Cost
There is no single weekly price. The total depends on the yacht, dates, guests, service, tax treatment, and expenses outside the base fee. Compare a current itemized quotation for your chosen dates rather than applying one market-wide average.
It includes only the yacht, crew service, equipment, insurance, and other items identified in that yacht’s quotation or agreement. Fuel, food and drinks, berthing, tax, and gratuity may be separate.
APA is money paid in advance for the operating expenses listed in the charter agreement. It commonly covers fuel, provisioning, and port or mooring costs on plus-expenses charters. Covered expenses should not be added a second time when estimating the total.
It depends on the listing and agreement. Ask whether VAT is included or added, which rate applies to the proposed itinerary, and what amount it is calculated on.
Treat them separately. Crew gratuity is discretionary. A security deposit, if required, is refundable subject to the agreement and any permitted deductions, so it should not be presented as expected vacation spend.
Provide your dates, guest count, cabin needs, total budget, itinerary priorities, dining preferences, and special arrangements. Request an itemized quotation that identifies the base fee, tax, operating allowance or expenses, optional items, deposits, and payment schedule.
