Split Yacht Charter

Plan a private, crewed yacht charter from the Split area to Brač, Hvar, Vis and beyond. CKIM Group helps you compare suitable yachts, cabin layouts, boarding locations and total costs.

Split charter at a glance

  • Boarding area: confirm the exact marina in Split, Kaštela or Trogir.
  • Route: compare a Split-area round trip with a one-way charter to Dubrovnik.
  • Cabins: match the bed arrangements and guest capacity to your group.
  • Total cost: compare the charter fee, applicable taxes and the yacht’s expense arrangements.
  • Timing: confirm availability, boarding times and seasonal services before booking travel.

Why start a Split yacht charter in Central Dalmatia?

Start in Split when you want Šolta, Brač, Hvar and Vis early in your week. These islands sit close to the mainland, so the first days aboard stay relaxed.

For example, one of our past seven-day routes from Marina Kaštela began with a 14-nautical-mile hop to Milna on Brač. The next day ran 17 nautical miles to the Pakleni Islands off Hvar. As a result, guests swam and lunched at anchor, rather than spending the day in transit.

Split itself deserves a few hours, too. Its old town grew inside the walls of a Roman emperor’s palace. In fact, UNESCO lists the historical complex of Split with the Palace of Diocletian as a World Heritage Site.

Where you board: Split, Kaštela or Trogir

For a yacht charter in Split, Croatia, you board in central Split, Kaštela, or Trogir. Your charter contract sets the exact berth. “Split” in a listing often means the wider Split area, not the old town harbor.

Here is what each boarding area offers:

ACI Marina Split

A central Split boarding option for groups who want time in the city before or after their charter. Confirm the exact berth and transfer arrangements.

Marina Kaštela

A boarding option between Split and Trogir. Share your flight details so the transfer can be planned around the yacht’s confirmed berth.

ACI Marina Trogir

A boarding option by Trogir’s old town, on the Čiovo side. Check the yacht’s location before choosing accommodation or transport.

Boarding and disembarkation times vary by yacht and charter agreement. Confirm the exact marina, boarding time and return requirements before arranging transfers or flights.

“When a client says Split, we first ask where they land and where they’ll sleep the night before. Central Split suits guests who want an evening in the old town before boarding. Kaštela sits close to the airport, so it works well for groups flying in on the day. Trogir suits clients who want a quieter old town to start from. Either way, we confirm the berth in writing before anyone books a transfer.” — Broker, CKIM Group

For facilities and services, see our guides to ACI Marina Split and Marina Trogir.

Choose the right yacht for your Split yacht charter

Choose your yacht by group size, cabin layout and pace first. Then check that its base is Split, Kaštela or Trogir, not another port.

Compare yacht types: catamaran, motor sailer, power catamaran and motor yacht

Each yacht type suits a different kind of week:

  • Sailing catamaran: compare guest cabins, crew accommodation and living space for your group.
  • Motor sailer: compare deck space, service and cabin layouts, especially for larger groups.
  • Power catamaran: explore twin-hull yachts with motor-powered cruising.
  • Motor yacht: compare cruising speed, cabin comfort and crew service; capabilities vary by yacht.

For a side-by-side comparison, read our guide to the best yacht types to charter in Croatia.

Compare yacht styles and charter arrangements

Use the featured yachts as a starting point, then compare verified guest cabin plans, crew arrangements, boarding areas and the full quotation for your dates. For a group of six, confirm at least three suitable guest cabins rather than relying only on the advertised guest count.

Dates and availability

Availability can change quickly. Listing calendars provide guidance; ask your broker to confirm current dates and any hold terms with the operator.

Therefore, send your dates early. We then check each yacht directly with its operator.

Compare Split yacht charter routes

Most routes from Split follow one of three shapes. Choose a Central Dalmatia round trip, a one-way run to Dubrovnik, or a northern loop.

Your captain then adjusts each day for wind and weather. In other words, every route below is an outline, not a fixed plan.

Split round trip

The round trip brings you back to the Split area, so you fly in and out of one airport. One of our past seven-day routes from Marina Kaštela ran:

Day Leg Distance
1 Kaštela – Milna (Brač) 14 NM
2 Milna – Pakleni Islands (Hvar) 17 NM
3 Hvar – Šćedro 14 NM
4 Šćedro – Vela Luka (Korčula) 15 NM
5 Vela Luka – Vis 27 NM
6 Vis – Maslinica (Šolta) 23 NM
7 Maslinica – Kaštela 18 NM

Source: CKIM Group partner route sheet, 7-day Kaštela round trip. NM = nautical miles. Treat the distances as planning estimates; swim stops, detours, conditions and the captain’s route can change the distance traveled.

That week totals 128 nautical miles, and no day runs past 27. See the full day-by-day plan in our Split round-trip itinerary.

Split to Dubrovnik

The one-way route adds Korčula, Mljet and the Elaphiti Islands, then ends in Dubrovnik. However, not every yacht runs one way.

Our quote template lists a delivery fee as a possible extra, so ask before you compare prices. Follow the route in our Split to Dubrovnik itinerary, or compare a Dubrovnik yacht charter start.

Northern loop from Trogir

A northern route from the Trogir area can explore places such as Primošten, Šibenik and the Kornati Islands. The number of stops depends on your yacht, charter duration, weather and preferred pace.

Discuss national-park visits and time ashore when planning the route. Ask your broker and captain to confirm the actual legs, distances and any shore transfers for the proposed itinerary.

Which islands fit your pace?

Hvar town and its waterfront
Hvar
Coastline on Brač island
Brač
Coastal scenery on Vis island
Vis

Pick islands by the kind of day you want, rather than ticking off every stop. Four islands shape most Split routes.

  • Šolta: the quiet first or last night, often in Maslinica. Our past itineraries recommend Martinis Marchi there.
  • Brač: Milna’s sheltered harbor, or Bol on the south coast. One past itinerary suggested Stina winery in Bol.
  • Hvar: Hvar Town’s evenings, Stari Grad’s calm, and the Pakleni Islands. Our past itineraries list Laganini Lounge Bar & Fish House on Palmižana.
  • Vis: remote harbors at Vis Town and Komiža, plus Biševo and its Blue Cave. Our itineraries recommend Pojoda in Vis Town.

Restaurant opening hours change with the season. Ask your charter team to confirm suitable venues and reservation arrangements for your dates.

Plan your arrival and first day

Plan your first day around your yacht’s confirmed boarding time, not your flight time. Then add a buffer for luggage, transfers, and settling in.

Tell us early if guests arrive on different flights. Also mention children, heavy luggage, or anyone with mobility needs. We use those details to plan your arrival around the confirmed berth and suggest a comfortable first evening.

Many groups also add a night in Split before boarding. That way, you see the palace without watching the clock. Read more in our Split destination guide sections on the old town.

What does a Split yacht charter cost?

Split yacht charter costs depend on the yacht, dates and charter arrangements. Compare the charter fee, applicable taxes and expense arrangements in an itemized quote. Some yachts use APA; others use meal packages, included allowances or separately charged expenses. Crew gratuity is optional.

Where APA is used, the Advance Provisioning Allowance is a fund for agreed operating expenses, managed by the captain. The final account shows actual spending; any unused balance is returned, and additional funds may be needed if spending exceeds the allowance.

For rates by yacht type, read our guide to Croatia yacht charter costs.

When to book: peak summer or the shoulder season?

Popular yachts can book well ahead for peak summer. Outside the busiest weeks, compare availability, weather expectations and seasonal operating schedules before choosing your dates.

Rates may be lower outside the peak summer season, but the difference varies by yacht and charter dates. Ask us to compare current offers and the total estimated charter cost, including applicable taxes and expenses.

Seasonal services need checking as well as yacht availability. For example, ACI Marina Palmižana publishes an April-to-October operating season. Confirm current marina access, restaurant opening dates and berth availability for the year you plan to travel.

Later-season trips also need flexibility around shorter days, cooler conditions and weather. Compare the months in our best time to sail Croatia guide, or read about sailing Croatia in October.

Plan your Split yacht charter booking with CKIM Group

Booking your yacht with CKIM Group takes three steps. We handle the details, so your group can focus on the trip.

  1. Share your plans. Tell us your dates, guests, room-sharing needs and comfortable total budget. Mention celebrations, dietary needs and preferred islands.
  2. Compare suitable yachts. Review cabin layouts, crew service, boarding areas, proposed routes and itemized costs for your dates.
  3. Confirm and prepare. Review the charter agreement and payment schedule, then confirm boarding details, expense arrangements and your group’s preferences.

We also ask the small questions that shape a good week. Do you prefer lively town evenings or quiet anchorages? Is anyone arriving late? Would you like a night in Split first?

Split yacht charter FAQ

Where does a Split yacht charter start?

Your yacht may board in central Split, Kaštela or Trogir. Confirm the exact marina, berth and boarding time in your charter arrangements before booking transfers.

Which marinas serve the Split area?

ACI Marina Split, Marina Kaštela and ACI Marina Trogir are boarding options in the wider Split area. The selected yacht and your charter arrangements determine the actual boarding point.

Should I sail a round trip or one way to Dubrovnik?

Choose a round trip to return to the Split area and focus on Central Dalmatia. A one-way route can finish in Dubrovnik, subject to the yacht’s availability, suitability and terms. Confirm any delivery or one-way fee in your quote.

Which yacht suits a group of six?

For six guests, compare yachts with at least three suitable guest cabins and confirm the permitted overnight guest count, crew accommodation and bed configurations before booking.

How much does a Split yacht charter cost?

Costs depend on the yacht, dates and charter arrangements. Request an itemized quote showing the charter fee, applicable taxes and expense arrangements. Depending on the yacht, expenses may use APA, packages, included allowances or separate charges. Keep optional gratuity separate.

Is the shoulder season a good time for a Split yacht charter?

It can be, depending on your preferred conditions, yacht availability and seasonal services. Ask your charter team to confirm marina access, restaurant openings and a flexible route for your dates.

How do I request yacht recommendations?

Share your dates, guest count, cabin needs, total budget and preferences through our charter inquiry form. An inquiry starts a conversation; it does not reserve a yacht or commit you to a booking.

Shorter Outings from the Split Area

If you have less than a full charter week, ask about a shorter private cruise or a separate day excursion. Availability, providers and terms differ from weekly crewed charters.

Possible interests include swimming near Brač, visiting Šolta’s villages, an evening coastal cruise, or an excursion involving Hvar and Biševo’s Blue Cave. The suitable departure point, boat, and number of stops depend on the time available and sea conditions.

A Blue Cave visit requires its own access arrangements and can be affected by conditions and queues. Agree on a realistic route for the time available, and confirm the provider, boarding point, return time, inclusions and cancellation terms before booking.
